Bean sprouts recalled after testing finds Listeria

Chang Farm of Whatley, MA is recalling 12 oz Nature’s Wonder Mung Bean Sprouts, with a sell-by date of Dec. 13, 2023, because of the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. The recall was initiated after a random sample was collected and analyzed by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), which resulted in confirmation of Listeria monocytogenes in the product.

Officials from the FDA have closed their investigation into the Ecuadoran company that supplied lead-tainted cinnamon applesauce products to the United States after finding that the lead content was thousands of times higher than recommended levels. An investigation into the outbreak of Salmonella Napoli has been completed as no cases have been detected since the end of September. The Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI) had reported seven outbreak cases. People became ill from late August to the end of September 2023.
