Tip of the Week Shelf life rules for food in your Kitchen Packaged foods – Once opened, a pack of fresh food (ham, custard, smoked fish, quiche, etc.) can be given 3 days shelf life (day of opening plus 2), it this is within the original manufacturer’s use by date. FSAI Recall of imported frozen food of animal origin sold in Iceland Ireland stores since the 3rd March 2023 due to inadequate evidence of traceability of these products from Metron Stores Limited (trading as Iceland Ireland). Recall of a batch of Wrights of Howth Organic Irish Smoked Salmon due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes.
