Checkmate acquires Voicebite

Checkmate, a restaurant ordering solutions provider, has acquired VoiceBite, a voice AI company, according to a press release.

Fueled by Large Language Models (LLMs), the VoiceBite solution is designed to use a restaurant's existing phone number and to integrate with the point of sales system with a plug-and-play installation that does not require staff training.

VoiceBite technology features include a customizable smart upselling feature, context awareness, support for multilingual human voices, support for natural speech cadence and interruptions, text ordering/payment, and 24/7 hands-on support.

"Acquiring VoiceBite allows us to provide a truly unified ordering experience for our restaurant partners," Mike Bell, chief of strategy at Checkmate, said in the release. "By integrating voice AI capabilities directly into our platform, restaurants can now offer seamless phone ordering and drive-thru (coming Q4 2024) alongside their other digital channels.
