Who doesn’t love taco night? These Steak Street Tacos are the perfect way to elevate your favorite food. As the weather gets warmer it’s the perfect time to cook up some savory, perfectly seasoned steak over the grill. Street taco-sized tortillas may be smaller but they’re the perfect size to deliver steak topped with all your favorite taco toppings to your mouth. Lettuce, pickled onions, and fresh avocados are just a few suggestions but fresh salsa is a must.

Tomatillo Salsa

1.5 Pounds Tomatillos
1 Small Onion, diced
1 Small Jalapeno, diced
3 Garlic Cloves
2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
2 Tbsp. Cilantro
2 Tbsp. Granulated Sugar
1 Tbsp. Salt
1/2 Tbsp. Black Pepper

  1. Preheat oven to 425 F.
  2. Combine the first 5 ingredients in a bowl and mix together.
  3. Place the mixture on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper.
  4. Roast for 30-40 minutes or until the edges of the tomatillos and onions are caramelized and brown. Take out of the oven and cool.
  5. Place tomatillo mixture in a blender.
  6. Add the next 4 ingredients and mix well.

 

Steak Street Tacos

16 Street Taco Flour Tortillas
2-3 Pounds Filet, Skirt, or Strip Steak
3 Cups Iceberg Lettuce, shredded
16 Tomatoes, sliced
8 Lime Wedges
2 Tbsp. Tomatillo Salsa
16 Cilantro Sprigs

  1. Cook your choice of steak to your liking. Do not cut or slice steak until it has rested for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Assemble the taco with the desired amount of the above ingredients.
