2023 Food 4 Future

   2023 Food 4 Future

Last week, we proudly participated in the 2023 Food 4 Future exhibition held in Bilbao, Spain. This event brought together leading professionals, innovators, and startups from the FoodTech industry to showcase groundbreaking advancements and discuss the future of food.

We started the week by co-hosting an ‘unofficial’ kick-off of the Food 4 Future Conference, “Strengthening Global Networks: Japan meets Bilbao”, in collaboration with key stakeholders of the Japanese startup ecosystem Shibuya Startup Support and Crossbie.  We enjoyed an exciting evening of networking and conversation with a diverse group of food innovators, FoodTech startups, and ecosystem builders. It was a pleasure to connect with the Japanese delegation, the guest country partner of the Food 4 Future, and we truly enjoyed the opportunity to explore Japan’s comprehensive strategy for tackling significant challenges, creating connections, expediting transformative processes, and uncovering fresh avenues for business growth.

On day 2 kicked off the Food 4 Future exhibition! Our decision to participate in the event was driven by our commitment to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and drive innovation within the FoodTech ecosystem, in the buzzing ecosystem that Spain has become in recent years, and in particular in a city like Bilbao with its strong gastronomic heritage.

Throughout the exhibition, we gave the opportunity to visitors to visit our booth and discover the Foodtech Data Navigator, a powerful resource that enables businesses and investors to navigate the complex AgriFoodTech landscape and identify emerging trends to ultimately make informed decisions. We also presented our proprietary taxonomy, via an interactive infographic allowing visitors to understand the different verticals and sub-verticals composing the AgriFoodTech sector, and the key challenges these are addressing to solve the issues of our Food system.

One of the highlights of our participation was the keynote presentation delivered by our CEO, Alessio D’Antino who provided a thought-provoking retrospective of technological advancements in the FoodTech sector over the past ten years. His keynote highlighted the transformative power of FoodTech and its potential to revolutionize the way we produce, distribute, and consume food in a sustainable and efficient manner, and what are the key trends that will shape the sector in the coming years.

Alessio then joined forces with Erich Eichstetter, Tech Scout of the Basque Culinary Center Innovation, a prominent industry expert, through a dynamic panel discussion on How technology increases the experience in a restaurant. They also discussed cutting-edge innovations, industry trends, and the challenges faced by businesses in adopting new technologies.

We had the pleasure of listening to groundbreaking presentations from Ingredalia, Vacka, MOA FoodTech, Nucaps, Innomy, and Esencia Foods, which are all part of our Barcelona FoodTech Innovation Hub. These startups showcased their disruptive innovations, highlighting the immense potential for technological advancements to drive positive change across the food industry.

Forward Fooding’s participation in the Food 4 Future exhibition in Bilbao was a success, allowing us to contribute to the vibrant FoodTech community and reinforce our commitment to driving innovation and collaboration in the food system.

Thanks to all the attendees that passed by our booth to know and connect with us!
